Exalted second quarter

Nations are partitioned, water gets divided, so is land, and even God.

If what you call as God, is distinct and far away from you, then who resides within you?

When did the form and the formless become distinct?

Flower is form. It's fragrance, formless.

Your body is form. You are formless. Do you not co-exist?

Body is visible, mind is not. Do they not co-exist?

Water is without form and face. But a bubble has distinct form, a drop has face, so does a wave. Ishwar is simultaneously with, and without attributes.

A moralistic man chided another man, who was guzzling beer.

" I am drinking only water ; barley water. And it is somewhat fermented," came the reply.

As water is basis of beer, Brahm is basis of world, creation.

The absolute abstract principle of Brahm, gets colored with form, mind, intellect, ego, consciousness.  When it takes on an antah-karan, then the illusion of creation reigns.

Earth, Saturn @ Shrawana

Buddha called them Sadhakas and Sravakas.

Sadhakas, the subduers - who attained after much yogic practices.

And Sravakas, who transcended simply by listening.

Buddha’s second quarter

Practices of mantra chanting, pranayama, breath watching, are all devices to arrive at a point, where you can turn inward and abide in silence.

Do your practices with utmost attention, but when you finish doing, that is the most important part.

It is a still zone where, the mind may have it's plunge into silence.

Sometimes, what does not happen during the practices, happens when you are not doing anything.

Mind can also plunge into silence and stillness - by being in the presence of a Master.

This phenomenon that happens in the presence of a Master, is called having "Darshan"

Lenten Uparati

Turning both kinds of sense faculties - motor and perception - away from sense objects, and placing them in their respective centers, is Daama, Daamyata.

The best Uparati or withdrawal consists in mind-activity, not being tethered to external stimuli.

Nine winter nights

Childless royal couple of Madurai, Malayadhwaja Pandyan and Kanchana Maalai, performed ritualistic sacrifices. And Princess Thataathakai manifested - with three ovaries.

A prophecy was heard, that the princess would lose her distortion, the moment she sighted her suitor.

Thataathakai reached adolescence, and went on a battle spree, conquering kingdom after kingdom. They reached Himalayan foot hills - there were no more kingdoms to conquer.

And her anxious minister Sumathi, prodded her on - the prophecy was yet to be fulfilled. "There are kingdoms in the mountains, let's invade," she urged.

Pandyan army ventured into highlands, where the princess sighted Sundar-ishwara, the handsome Lord - and her third breast vanished. Thataathakai became Meena - akshi, the fish eyed

third quarter @ Wishaaka

What is a trail to one's core . . . ?

It is to recognize the no-self, . . .  in oneself.

As one treks, slowly, nothing like the self remains. Only then the inner being, is.

That void, is the inner being. Because the void, is the whole.

Second quarter @ Tishya

According to Wedanta (beyond wedic) traditions, subject matter and essence of all Upanishads are same.

All Upanishad Mahawaakyas (great statements of Upanishads) express this, in terse, concise statements.

Chandogya Upanishad says, Tat Twam asi - That is you!
