Grand conjunction crescent

An individual's striving to become whole, access one's core, is yoga or integration.

Kshema is myriad expressions of one's core, in the world - differential benefic manifestations.

Once, an industrialist wanted me, to visit his home.

He drove me in his expensive car, as we surveyed his sprawling estate; and arrived at his tucked away villa.

A uniformed guard greeted us, opened gates. The driveway snaked through well kept gardens -  a gardener tended in the sunshine. We cruised into a plush portico paved with Italian marble. His wife hurried out to greet us, with billowing, blown hair.

The man turned to me, said apologetically, "What to do Swamiji; my prarabdha."

Krttika, the splitter

The hideous howler sprang out from Brahma's frustrated brow.

Brahma asked the androgynous life-form, to split itself.

Split forms became the 11 Rudras and Rudranis.

Gods sought Brahma's guidance, for their salvation.

He uttered the syllable - Da.

Dewas recognized their shortcomings - and understood the cryptic, as Damyata.

Humans sought guidance from their Creator, for salvation.

And he uttered the same cryptic - Da

It was understood as Datta - to give, to let go.

Demons too sought Brahma's counsel, for salvation. Same cryptic was uttered.

Demons understood it, as Daya -  mercy, compassion.

This narrative features in the Great Jungle Upanishad.

Shata Bishak - 100 Surgeons

The Javanese temple is in 3 tiers.
A pyramidal base with 5 concentric square terraces; a truncated cone, with 3 circular platforms, and at the top - a monumental stupa.

Vertical progression of the Buddha Ur temple from base, body and superstructure is in sync with a concept of the Universe.

The concept of Kama dhatu, Rupa dhatu and Arupa dhatu.
The realm of desires, realm of forms and realm of formlessness.

Source of life has no face of it's own, no hands of it's own, no eyes of it's own.

But if you are silent, peaceful, loving, then suddenly your hand starts quivering, with a new source of energy.

Godliness is simply a way of life, a lifestyle, simply a certain way of falling in tune with all that surrounds you.

To accept this simple fact - that your daily life is your temple and your religion, is going to be a great transformation.

True religion is not in places of worship - Osho

Thought is food.
Mind is food - in subtle form.
Down the ages, there has been a search for food that strengthens the no-mind.

Because, beyond the body, mind and soul there is something that is not food. It is utter emptiness, woid, shoonya, content-less consciousness.

If you talk less, listen less, slowly there arises in you, a cleanliness, a  purity - as if you have just taken a bath. The soil, for meditation to take root.

Transactions with the world leave impressions of many hues - in your mind. But, in deep sleep, mind does not transact.

Your own mind is the wide, expansive world.

This very mind, if for only a moment, connects with the beginning-less, endless, imperishable, truth, consciousness, bliss, eternal, pure and the free principle of Brahman - then it gets liberated from all impressions.

Wi-Shaka - branch-less

Mind is a baffling phenomenon.

You have never seen it, touched it, smelt it, tasted it, you have never heard it. It is not perceivable by the 5 senses. Yet it exists.

It exists because you don't know who you are, what the truth is.

But when you move into the zone of meditativeness, mind dies. When it is thought-less, memory-less, wasana-less, mind vanishes.

When one becomes a deepest valley of reception, highest peaks of consciousness can be given.

If one is so receptive, that one has no mind of one's own, one is simply an emptiness. Then, words and symbols are not needed, something can be given.

Real thing follows the words - like a shadow.

Maundy Thursday

Chandrayaan austerity attempts to sync it's pitch with moon phases.

One may start with a full meal, on a full moon day - and reduce intake with each passing day.

On the thirteenth day of waning, one may subsist with just liquids, water or even less. And hold a full emptiness on the 14th waning.

The tapering is reversed from the new moon, to enjoy a full meal on the full moon.
A difficult austerity to do, but some people do it for it's merit.

Dewi damanam '20

We know this world only through our mind.
It is mind that has taught us about the world - with inputs from five senses.

World is in flux, moment to moment.
And mind that follows the world, is in flux.

It is the nature of the mind, to be in flux.
Because it is soaked with the world.

That which moves, is the world - Samsara.

Changeless Stillness that contains all this movement, is the Supreme Self.

dumb's 500

He was into intense austerities.
Aspiring for divine grace, so he could compose poems on Dewi.

Poems  that would propel people who recite, to ultimate well being.

A gaping docile dumb man was also sitting, at the temple corridor.

Dewi had to respond, to the intensity of austerities.
But she knew - capacity was yet to grow, to receive her grace.
Still, she came over to him -  as a woman with, mouthful of chewed tamboola juice.
'Open your mouth', she said with brimming red lips.

He swore, called her a *****, shooed her away.

Being a deity of unreasonable compassion, - Awyaaja Karuna Murti - she walked across to the dumb man. And squirted the gift, into his gaping mouth.
Tamboola juices flowed. Tongue came alive. The dumb  broke into verse.

Prana Tishta - grounding of Chi

Prana Pratishta refers to installation of an image and it's consecration.

It involves reciting of hymns and chants that invite a life energy - Prana - to be the resident guest, in the idol.

It is followed by Nyasa or grounding.

Through texts such as Tantra Tattwa, esoteric tantric traditions follow elaborate rituals to infuse life to a deity.

Seventh verse

Narayana Karuna-maya Sharanam Karawani Tawakau Charanau
Iti Shatpadimadeeye Wadana Saroje Sadaa Wasatu

- Shat-padi

O compassionate Narayana I am choice-less at your feet
May these six footfalls ever hover upon lip lotuses

- Shat-padi

Being choice-less is the fragrance of being devout.
Six footfalls could be taken as, the six verses.
Shat-pada could also mean the six words  -  Compassionate Narayana I am choice-less at your feet.

plucked head of Brahma- Brahma Capaala

Severed fifth head stuck to Shiva, began gobbling food, robbing the host of all nourishment.
Dewi approached Wishnu for remedy; and prepared delicacies as counselled.

She fed the head - it ate out of her palm.
When it was sufficiently addicted, she dropped a morsel - and another, and another.

The head dropped down to savor.

Shiva seized the moment, transformed into a limbless linga. The head could not reattach. Dewi scaled up her form, trampled the Capaala deep into earth.

Fed up with her 'me-too' allegations, Wishnu scaled up his form and trampled Dewi - deep into earth. And she surfaced, through a termite hill.
